things to do in bangkok: Bangkok’s classic attractions + hidden gem food + beautiful hotels
Finally visited the Bangkok I’ve been dreaming of! This city is so much more than just shopping. From ancient palaces to rooftop night views, from street barbecue to exquisite tacos, walking till your legs hurt during the day and partying till you drop at night, the whole trip rhythm is both chill and exciting!

Pre-trip Preparation | Follow This Guide to Avoid Pitfalls
1. Documents: Don’t forget your passport and ID card, make sure they are valid for at least another 6 months.
2. Currency exchange: It’s recommended to exchange more than 10,000 Thai Baht, as customs sometimes checks the amount of cash you’re carrying.
3、SIM Card: Purchase a Thai SIM card on the platform, ready to use upon landing, convenient and fast.
4、Essential Apps:
· Ride-hailing: Bolt (much cheaper than Grab)
· Maps: Google Maps
· Transportation: BTS Skytrain accepts WeChat Pay, completely barrier-free
5、Must-bring Items: Filtered shower head, power bank, waterproof phone bag, SIM card ejector tool, sunscreen… These are all super practical!
Bangkok Attractions Recommendations
The Grand Palace & Temple of the Emerald Buddha
One of Bangkok’s must-see landmarks, so splendid it will leave you speechless! It’s recommended to enter promptly at 8:30 AM to avoid crowds and high temperatures. Dress code requires covering shoulders and knees. Clothing rental is available on-site but has long queues. It’s recommended to visit the Temple of the Reclining Buddha at the same time to save time and make it convenient.

Wat Pho (Reclining Buddha Temple)
The Buddha statue is truly enormous, glittering with gold, and visually stunning! But what I absolutely love is the Thai massage parlor inside the temple—apparently the therapists are professionally trained, the prices are reasonable, and you’ll feel completely “revived” after the massage!
Chao Phraya River Night Cruise
You must experience this at least once! I recommend choosing a cruise boat that offers a buffet dinner and live music performance. Enjoying your meal while feeling the night breeze, with the brilliantly illuminated riverbanks before you, creates a perfect atmosphere—100 points! It’s perfect for couples or groups of friends.
ICONSIAM Shopping Mall
This is a paradise combining shopping and photo opportunities. Besides various luxury brands, there are also Thai local designer brands, a floating market-style food area, and a super photogenic rooftop terrace. You could shop until your legs go numb and still not want to leave!
Hotel Recommendation | TRIBE Living Bangkok Sukhumvit 39 by AccorHotels
For this three-day, two-night trip to Bangkok, one thing I was extremely satisfied with was staying at TRIBE Living Bangkok Sukhumvit 39 by AccorHotels. If you’re like me and have high standards for design, comfort, and public space atmosphere, then this hotel is definitely worth saving!

The hotel is located on Sukhumvit 39, and the surrounding area is very quiet. It’s just a few minutes’ walk to the BTS station, making it convenient to go anywhere. Outside is the bustling Bangkok, but returning here feels like switching to silent mode, where the pace suddenly slows down.

I especially like their public space design. Unlike traditional hotels that feel so formal and rigid, it feels more like a livable space. The Lobby Lounge is somewhat like a shared workspace, where many guests drink coffee, chat, and read. The atmosphere is particularly relaxed, with no sense of pressure at all. It’s also very photogenic – casual snapshots have a magazine-like quality.
The room is overall very new, with great attention to detail. My favorite thing is their exclusive Tribe mattress, which is super comfortable. On the first night, I slept straight through until ten o’clock. The room is equipped with a Nespresso coffee machine. In the morning, I would open the curtains, drink coffee, and watch the city wake up outside the window. That feeling is truly therapeutic.
Hotel Dining | One-stop Destination for Food, Drink, and Entertainment

TRIBE Table cali Restaurant (1F All-day Dining Restaurant)
Featuring a healthy style with West Coast elements, light meals can also be incredibly satisfying. Evening cocktails are also served here with shared small plates.

Taco Hachi (27F Rooftop Bar)
Japanese tacos + Mexican tacos + rooftop night view, who understands! Enjoying the breeze while looking at the skyline, order a ‘Yuzu Highball’ and become completely immersed in the night.
